Getting Ready

With just two and a half weeks remaining before I leave on my journey, it is really starting to feel real.  All of the details that we had been most worried about have come together—even better than we could have hoped or imagined.  We feel this is confirmation that we are following God’s plan for this time in our lives.  We have been filled with peace and are very excited about this opportunity.

Thank God with us for this good news:

• My Visa has been approved and is in my possession
• We’ve been incredibly humbled by generous support from our family, friends, and church

Lift these requests to God with us:

• Pray that we can both have smooth travels
• Pray that we can find a place for Ann to serve while she is with me
• Pray for both of us to stay healthy while we are abroad
• Pray that we can find a cost-efficient place for us to live for our two months together in Carlisle
•  The first 3.5 weeks I am in England, Ann will still be home working.  This is the longest we’ve been apart since we’ve been married.  Pray that our marriage will be guarded and that God would use us in this time apart. 

The scripture reading at our wedding was Ephesians 3:14-21.  Pray this over our marriage — especially during our time serving in Carlisle.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.  I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
