Arrival in Carlisle

So after much anticipation and preparation, I've made it to Carlisle and am starting to come out of the fog of jet-lag.  My transit went as smoothly as could be expected and I arrived safe and sound with all of my luggage.  For the time being, I am staying with the delightful Ingham family where I have a place to stay and am being taken care of.  Tim Ingham is another developer on the OpenPetra project that I am working on, so I am able to catch a ride to and from OM each day with him.

I got settled in Tuesday afternoon and was able to jump right in on Wednesday this week.  Starting out, I am mostly trying to wrap my head around the necessary domain knowledge required to contribute effectively to such a large project.  There are many things that are different stylistically and on the surface in the codebase from what I am used to, however I am expecting to continue to gain enough traction to start making real progress in the near future.  I look forward to contributing to this project and organization.

Please pray that God would use me in this organization, that I would be able to be productive in my time here, and that Ann and I would have endurance in this time apart.

Praise God for smooth travels, wonderful accommodations, and a great team to work with.

Thank you for your prayers and support as this journey is getting underway.
