A Plan Unfolding

Since our last update, our lives have continued to change from what we'd imagined this year to look like.

Our sad news is that my dear Grandma passed away in the early morning of February 4, just two short weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.  I was able to join my dad and sister at her bedside just eight hours prior to her passing, and even for a few short hours, it was such an honor to hold her hand and care for her as she walked from this life into Eternal life, joining my Grandpa who went ahead of her back in June 2007.  As my dad has said: "God's goodness is greater than our grief."

On a happier note, a couple weeks ago, Andrew and I took a walk in our neighborhood.  Having just decided that we were officially not moving to England, and that Andrew is going to do part-time, remote work for OM, we were discussing how different this year is turning out to be from what we had expected.  As we were talking about this, we walked past a home in our neighborhood that is new construction.  When we moved into the neighborhood, we'd commented to each other about the plot of land and how nice it was, even considering that maybe someday we'd think about purchasing the land and building on it.  As construction started on a home on that land last summer, we watched it be built, as it's on our normal walking route.  As we walked past it a couple weeks ago, we noticed there was an open house, and decided, out of curiosity's sake to take a peek at what the inside looked like.  As we walked through the house, we were surprised to find that the house had nearly all the same features as what we'd talked about possibly building on that very plot of land.

We thought and prayed very hard, met with a realtor, put in an offer which was accepted, readied and put our house on the market, and sold our house for above asking price its second day on the market!  So, while we're not moving to England, we are moving...about a mile down the road.  We're planning to move this spring and are very excited about our new house.  Like our current house, we'll have a guest room and are always happy to accept visitors, so let us know when you'd like to visit and we'll make sure it's ready for you!
