As the month of January has gone by, our prayers, feelings, and conversations with OM have confirmed that this is not the right time for us to pursue moving to England. As we've been coming to this conclusion, we've also been asking ourselves the question, "what IS next?"
Here's at least a partial answer to that question:
At the beginning of January, Andrew switched employers. He now works for a small, 4-man consulting firm for web development, named Ventana. One benefit of this job is that he is working from home three days each week.
I have also decided to switch employers. February 19 will be my last day on 5 South. I'm sad to be leaving a place where I have learned so much and been surrounded by such fantastic co-workers. However, I'm also excited to stay in the oncology world as I join the team at Cancer and Hematology Centers of Western Michigan. My first day is February 22. I'll be working at an outpatient chemotherapy infusion clinic in downtown Grand Rapids. I'll work four days a week, 10 hours each day. I'll no longer work weekends or holidays and am really looking forward to having my schedule line up more closely with Andrew's, as well as finally getting back into a weekly rhythm instead of having a different schedule every week. Andrew's pretty excited to have me home on weekends, too!
We're still on good terms with OM and in contact with them. We're exploring possibilities for still partnering with them, even if we don't live there. While we believe God is closing the door on us moving there, we don't believe we're called to cut ties with them.
Stay tuned as we continue to discover what God has in store for us this year!
Thanks for the update. Glad you are not going too far away. We will miss you.
