This is a bittersweet update, but it's overdue.
You may recall that several months ago, Andrew and I had excitedly announced our purchase of one-way tickets to England for Monday, January 4.
Due to several circumstances and doors closed along the way, we canceled those tickets back in November and instead of doing final preparations for moving, today we've gone to church, taken a walk, and had a quiet afternoon. Our plans for England are uncertain and, at best, delayed. We've prayed through every step of the process, and in general, we're at peace with how things have turned out thus far. Yet, that doesn't mean that while January 4 might look like a normal day in the new year, it won't feel like a normal day for us.
As we start a new year, it's easy to reflect on the past. 2014 was a year of excited preparations and several months of fantastic traveling. 2015 was a year of waiting, stress, tests, frustration, anticipation and disappointment. I wouldn't say it wasn't a bad year, but it leaves us starting 2016 with no sense of what our year might look like. We continue to covet your prayers as we seek what the Lord has in store for us this year.
*Many of you have talked with us along this journey and know more details about what doors have closed. If you have questions or want to talk with us more about our current position, please let us know.
Sorry to hear of the closed doors. I have no idea why the door was closed, but I know His heart is for you and not against you. I know His plans for you are great and will bear fruit. We wait with eager expectation for what He has for you in 2016!
