I’m overdue for an update.
I have now been in Carlisle for a little over 2.5 weeks and I’ve gotten settled
in and am starting to learn my way around.
One week from today, I will be meeting up with Ann as she arrives in
Glasgow. We’ve been looking forward to
this for the last 20 days of being apart and it finally feels like it is within
reach. Ann has had quite a busy and
exhausting time back home, and I give her a lot of credit for handling those
stresses in stride. Fortunately we’ve been
able to Skype most days, so we’re able to stay connected, although it will be
quite nice to be back together in person.
We can praise God that Ann and I will have a place to stay
while together in Carlisle. We will be renting
a room in the house of some other OMers.
The details of what exactly Ann will be doing are still a bit up in the
air. We are hoping to find some local
churches or organizations where she can informally help out. There are a few potentials, but nothing can
be confirmed at this point, so this is an area where we ask for continued
prayer.
My time at Operation Mobilisation is going quite smoothly
and I am starting to understand enough of the OpenPetra project to be
productive. Although the details of the work
that I’m doing might not be particularly engaging for everyone to read, I am enjoying
spending my days contributing some much needed assistance in the form of
software development. OM has a few talented developers, but the need
is great as there is a lot of work to be done and not much time to do it. It’s not exactly a glamorous mission field,
but it does provide the organizational structure for many others to be able to
serve all across the world.
It's always nice to hear what's going on over there, as well as to get updates on your prayer needs, so we can be more focused in uplifting specific concerns and praises.
ReplyDeleteI think you should also post in one of these blogs about news.om.org and blog.om.org, so that readers can see what it is you are supporting in your work over there. But, of course, whatever you want to blog about is fine with me. I am happy for all the news I can get.
Love, MOM
