A Weekend in Wales

This past weekend, Andrew and I took the opportunity to explore a small part of Northern Wales.  We borrowed a car from OM and left Carlisle early on Saturday morning.  By late morning, we had entered into Snowdonia National Park and were enjoying beautiful views:

We did some exploring, and through a small section of forest, over a stream, and up a hill, we enjoyed exploring an ancient dungeon in a marvelous setting.

Snowdon Mountain is the highest peak in England and Wales.  While we would have loved to make the 6 hour hike to the summit and back, we were a bit pressed for time and I have a bit of a cold and somewhat less energy than typical, so we decided instead to take a train up the mountain.

The summit of Snowdon was well into the clouds, so we could see very little from the top:

Upon returning to the base of the mountain, we drove to the seaside village of Llandudno to our overnight accommodations at the Wedgwood Guest House.  Anywhere that takes your breakfast order upon your arrival is a good choice!

Following church on Sunday, we explored Llandudno a bit and climbed the smaller peak of Great Orme, on the west end of the village.  We spent a good bit of time up top exploring and enjoying God's creation.

On our way back towards town, we even saw two rams fighting.  The nearby females seemed to take no notice.

Following our afternoon of exploring, it was time to head back to Carlisle.  It was a short, but lovely, weekend in Wales.
