Saturday morning, we woke up to a full rainbow outside our bedroom window. We could see all the way from one end to the other, even to the bottom where the rainbow met the sea. Having arrived in the dark on Friday night, it was a glorious sight to see upon waking. It was too big to capture in a single photo, so you'll just have to believe us that we witnessed the full arch:
Following breakfast, Andrew and I took a walk around Culbokie. We have so far experienced very good, and also rather stable, weather. Saturday morning on our walk, we encountered the unpredictability and quick changing weather of Scotland. To one not expecting such weather, it may be seen as a bit frustrating, and our hosts apologized for the frequent changes in weather. Yet, the clouds and rain showers interspersed with blue skies, sun, and rainbows are some of the unique beauty that is Scotland. The following pictures were taken all within a 45 minute window (notice the changing skies in the first photo as well as the wet raincoats in the last photo - we didn't take photos during the rain):
Saturday afternoon, Ian & Shona took us on a driving tour of the Black Isle:
We even saw highland cows (pronounced hee-lan coos)!
We had such a lovely time visiting with Ian & Shona.
